The Society’s only physical premises are, by the kindness of the Headmaster and Governors, located at St. Julian’s School, Carcavelos, where the Library and Archives can be consulted (preferably by appointment) on Monday afternoons. The BHSP Council keeps in close contact with the branches in Caldas da Rainha and Oporto but these do not have physical premises.Events organised by the three branches are open to ALL members of the Society but enrolments must be made through the branch responsible for the event. The Lisbon branch organises one-day visits to places of interest within reach of Lisbon and half- or whole-day visits to places in Lisbon itself. The branch also organises talks, usually on episodes of Anglo-Portuguese history, and once or twice a year plans a popular several-day visit to places in Portugal or Spain. The Society’s Council is always ready with information or advice for professional historians, amateur enthusiasts and family historians working on matters of Anglo-Portuguese interest.
